CCHA Players of the Week
Dec. 10, 2007
This week's Players of the Week honors go to: Michigan State junior forward Tim Crowder (Offensive), Notre Dame senior defenseman Dan VeNard (Defensive), Alaska senior goaltender Wylie Rogers (Goaltender) and Western Michigan freshman goaltender Jerry Kuhn (Rookie).
Offensive Crowder (4-0-0, +4) scored two goals and was +2 each night as the Spartans took both ends of a home-and-home series with Ferris State.
Defenseman VeNard had an assist in Friday's 4-2 win at Princeton, added two goals and another assist in Saturday's 7-0 victory while anchoring a penalty-killing unit that was 8-for-9 on the weekend.
Goaltender Rogers stopped 32 shots for first-star honors and helped stymie nine power plays in blanking Miami, 3-0, to shut down the nation's No. 1 team and top-rated offense.
Rookie Kuhn blocked 48-of-51 shots (.941) in backstopping the Broncos to a sweep of visiting Wayne State with 5-2 and 5-1 victories.
