Chris Kunitz's assists and timely goal scoring earned him the CCHA Alumni of the Week award. On Thursday, he assisted on Anaheim's first three goals en route to a playmaker and second star honors in a 6-3 win in Los Angeles. Two days later in San Jose, he scored the Ducks' lone goal in regulation, a tip-in, setting up a shoot-out win over the division-rival Sharks. The young forward has 51-71-122 in 192 NHL games. In four years at Ferris State, he played 152 games in which he scored an impressive 175 points. The Regina native received CCHA All-Conference honors in his junior and senior seasons (2002 and 2003) and was CCHA Player of the Year in 2003. He was recognized as a first team All-American in 2003. During his senior campaign, he led the Bulldogs to a first-place finish in the regular season and an appearance in the playoff finals. Kunitz, who has played NHL games for Atlanta and Anaheim, became the first former FSU player to win the Stanley Cup in 2007.
