Vancouver's Ryan Kesler earned CCHA Alumni of the Week honors after going on a three game tear that included three assists and five points. The former Buckeye began the week by chipping in an assist in a 4-2 home loss at the hands of the San Jose Sharks. Four days later he assisted on both Canuck goals in another 4-2 loss at home, this time to Los Angeles. He capped his impressive week off by scoring his first two goals of the season in a 4-1 victory over the host Columbus Blue Jackets. While at Ohio State, Kesler tallied 11 goals and 20 assists in 40 games, helping Ohio State to a third-place finish in the regular season, plus appearances in both the CCHA Tournament consolation game and the NCAA tournament. The Buckeyes led the league in penalty killing in 2002-03 with 88.2 percent.
