This week's CCHA Alumni of the Week award goes to NHL veteran Rod Brind'Amour. In three games, he helped his Carolina Hurricanes to three wins via four points. He began the week with two assists in a 7-1 rout of Toronto and netted a goal two days later in a 5-3 decision against Ottawa. His remarkable week was topped off with an assist against Montreal, a 3-1 win. Brind'Amour, the Hurricanes' captain, is a veteran of 19 NHL seasons with over 1,000 points. The Ottawa native played his collegiate hockey at Michigan State, where he recorded 59 points in just 42 games, good for a spot on the CCHA All-Rookie Team as well as 1989 CCHA Rookie of the Year honors. He also won the team award for Outstanding Rookie on Michigan State's CCHA regular season and tournament championship team.
