NHL's Central Scouting Report Ranks 17 CCHA Players/Recruits

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - The National Hockey League's Central Scouting Service has ranked two CCHA players and 14 recruits who have signed a national letter of intent out of a total of 210 North American skaters in its Final Ranking for the 2008 NHL Entry Draft to be held at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario, on June 20-21, 2008. Northern Michigan forward Mark Olver and teammate Erik Gustafsson are the only two ranked skaters who played in the CCHA last season. Both were members of the 2007-08 All-Rookie Team. Ohio State forward recruit Zac Dalpe, who is ranked 16th, is the highest-rated skater on the list with ties to the CCHA. The Paris, Ont., native played for Penticton of the BCHL this past season and was the Vees' third-leading scorer with a 27-36-63 chart in 46 games. Another Buckeyes recruit, forward Taylor Stefi shen from Langley of the BCHL, checks in at the No. 84 slot among the Top 100 North American skaters. Two other players cracked the Top 100 with Michigan recruit Brandon Burlon from St. Michael's of the OPJHL ranked 41st and Michigan State recruit Daultan Leveille from St. Catharines of the GHKL. In total, NHL Central Scouting ranked four Michigan recruits, two from Bowling Green, Michigan State, Northern Michigan and Ohio State along with player headed to Miami, Nebraska-Omaha and Notre Dame.
