Six CCHA Players Named To RBK Hockey All-American Teams

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -
Six players from the Central Collegiate Hockey Association have been named to the
2007-08 RBK Hockey All-American West Team, including three who were chosen for First-Team honors.
Miami University and the University of Michigan had the highest representation among CCHA schools on the RBK
Hockey All-American West Team with two players each. The Wolverines are represented by senior forward Kevin Porter,
a Hobey Hat Trick' finalist on the First Team and his linemate, Chad Kolarik on the Second Team. The RedHawks twosome
includes senior forward Ryan Jones, another 'Hobey Hat Trick' finalist, on the First Team and junior defenseman
Alec Martinez on the Second Team.
Junior defenseman Tyler Eckford made Alaska Nanooks' history by becoming the fi rst player from his school to earn
All-America First-Team honors. Dean Fedoruk, a 1994 Second-Team selection, is the Nanooks' only other All-American
player.
Junior Jeff Lerg became the eighth member of the Michigan State Spartans to earn All-America accolades as a goaltender
when he was named to the Second Team. No other CCHA school can boast of more than four All-American
picks at the netminding position.
