Mike Knuble
For the second time this season, Mike Knuble has earned CCHA Alumnus of the Week honors. The former Michigan Wolverine began his week in Buffalo where he picked up two assists in a 4-3 overtime win over the Sabres. While hosting the Ottawa Senators three days later, the Toronto native tallied two third-period goals, giving the Flyers a 3-1 win. Two days later, the Flyers traveled to New York to take on the Islanders. Knuble scored a short-handed goal and chipped in two assists as the Flyers took a 4-1 decision, their third straight win. His busy week concluded on Sunday against the Rangers, where he picked up an assist in a 5-4 shootout loss. In four years at Michigan, the forward scored 103 goals and 175 points in 157 games, helping the Wolverines to three CCHA regular-season titles, a CCHA tournament championship and three NCAA Frozen Four appearances. He earned CCHA All-Conference honors twice and NCAA All-American honors in his senior season. In 1993-94 his 25 goals led the league. The Detroit Red Wings draft pick made his professional debut with the Adirondack Red Wings of the AHL and has since recorded 375 points in 722 NHL contests. Knuble has been a member of the Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers. He has 167 points over the past three seasons.
