This week's Players of the Week honors go to: Bowling Green senior forward Derek Whitmore (Offensive), Nebraska-Omaha sophomore defenseman Eddie Del Grosso (Defensive), Michigan State junior goaltender Jeff Lerg (Goaltender) and Bowling Green freshman forward Dan Sexton (Rookie).

Offensive

Derek Whitmore, BGSU

Whitmore (4-0-4, +6) fired his third hat trick of the season in Friday's 4-1 win over Western Michigan and scored again in Saturday's 2-1 overtime victory.

Defenseman

Eddie Del Grosso, UNO
So., (Las Vegas, NV)

Del Grosso (1-3-4) scored a key shorthanded goal in Saturday's overtime win at Alaska and blocked 11 shots in a weekend sweep of the Nanooks.

Goaltender

Jeff Lerg MSU
Jr., (Livonia, MI)

Lerg blocked 50-of-51 shots (.980) and was the second star of each game as the Spartans swept at Ohio State to stay undefeated in 2008 at 4-0-2.

Rookie

Dan Sexton, BGSU
F, (Apple Valley, MN)

Sexton (0-4-4, +4) set up the winning goal each night, including Saturday's overtime winner, as the Falcons took both ends of a home-and-home series from WMU.
