Mike Comrie
After recording seven points in four games, Mike Comrie has earned CCHA Alumnus of the Weeks honors. On Wednesday, the former Michigan Wolverine scored twice, including the game-winner, and chipped in an assist in a 4-3 overtime win against Toronto. On Thursday, he added another assist in a 5-2 defeat in Ottawa. On Saturday, the forward scored another goal in a 5-2 win as the Islanders hosted the New Jersey Devils. Comrie's week concluded in Carolina, where he recorded two more assists in a 4-1 win over the Hurricanes. In two years at Michigan, Comrie played 82 games and scored an astounding 103 points. During his freshman year, he scored 44 points en route to CCHA All-Rookie honors, a spot on the CCHA All Rookie team, and a CCHA playoff championship. During his sophomore campaign, he picked up 59 points in leading Michigan to a regular-season championship, a spot on the CCHA All-Conference team, and the All-American second team. The 1999 Edmonton draft pick began his professional career with the Oilers. Since then, he has skated for Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Ottawa before joining the Islanders this season. In 424 NHL games, Comrie has 135 goals and 294 points.
