	March 10, 2003 Bryce Cockburn, NMU Sr., F (Campbell River, BC) Cockburn (3-1-4, +2) scored a hat trick on Saturday night in a 4-1 win over Notre Dame to earn home-ice advantage for the Wildcats in the first round of the playoffs.
	March 3, 2003 Chris Kunitz, FSU SR., F (Regina, SK) Kunitz (2-3-5, +2) scored the game-winning goal on Friday and contributed a game-winning assist on Saturday as the Bulldogs swept UNO with a pair of shutout victories.
	February 24, 2003 Ryan Campbell, UAF JR., F (Edmonton, AB) Campbell (3-1-4, +3) had two goals, including a shorthanded marker, and an assist in Friday’s 4-1 win at Ohio State. He also added a key third-period goal in Saturday’s 5-4 victory.
	February 17, 2003 Derek Nesbitt, FSU So., F (Egmondville, ON) Nesbitt, (3-0-3, +2), scored the game-winning goal in both games as the Bulldogs swept a home-and-home series with Western Michigan by scores of 2-1 and 5-3.
	February 10, 2003 Blaine Bablitz, UAF Sr., F (Valleyview, AB) Bablitz (1-3-4, +4) scored the game-tying goal in the third period of Friday’s 3-all draw with UNO and, on Saturday, assisted on both the tying and winning goals in the Nanooks 4-3 overtime victory.
	February 3, 2003 Chris Kunitz, FSU Sr., F (Regina, SK) Kunitz (4-1-5, +4) had a pair of goals in Friday’s 6-4 loss at Michigan and then added two more first-period goals and an assist in Saturday’s 4-3 win when the Wolverines returned to Big Rapids.
	January 27, 2003 Jeremy Cheyne, WMU So., F (Calgay, AB) Cheyne (2-4-6, +4) capped off a two-goal, two-assist effort with the game-winning goal on Friday and added two assists on Saturday as the Broncos swept at Fairbanks.
	January 20, 2003 Jim Slater, MSU So., F (Lapeer, MI) Slater (1-5-6, +3) had a goal and four assists against UNO on Saturday for the first five-point game by a Spartan since Oct. 12, 1996. He leads the Spartans with 8-20-28 on the season.
	January 13, 2003 John-Michael Liles, MSU Sr., D (Zionsville, IN) Liles (2-3-5, +5) had a career-best tying goal and two assists in Friday’s 5-2 win over UAF and added a shorthanded goal and assist in Saturday’s 6-2 victory over the Nanooks.
	January 6, 2003 Blaine Bablitz, UAF Sr., F (Valleyview, AB) Bablitz set up an earlier goal and scored with 31 seconds left in regulation time on Friday to lift the Nanooks into a 3-3 tie at Bowling Green. He added a shorthanded goal and an assist in Saturday's 6-3 win.
	December 16, 2002 R.J. Umberger, OSU Jr., F (Pittsburgh, PA) Umberger (4-0-0, +3) scored two goals, including the game winner each night, and received Perani Cup first-star honors each game as the Buckeyes swept UNO by scores of 4-1 and 3-1.
	December 9, 2002 R.J. Umberger, OSU Jr., F (Pittsburgh, PA) Umberger (3-4-7 with two Perani Cup first-star honors) scored two goals and two assists in Friday’s 4-0 win over Miami and added a goal and two helpers in Saturday’s 5-3 win.
	December 1, 2002 Greg Zanon, UNO Sr., D (Burnaby, BC) Zanon (2-4-6) had an assist in Friday’s 3-3 tie with Merrimack and a team-record five points, two goals and three assists, in Saturday’s 5-3 win in which the Mavs fired five unanswered goals.
	November 25, 2002 David Brisson, UNO Sr., F (Quebec City, PQ) Brisson, (3-1-4, +5), who scored the Mavericks lone goal and was +1 in Friday’s 2-1 loss to NMU, earned first-star honors in Saturday’s 5-4 win with two goals and an assist, and was +4 in the game.
	November 18, 2002 Paul Caponigri, OSU Jr., F (Oak Park, IL) Caponigri, 3-2-5, had a career-high two goals and two assists in Friday’s 5-2 win over MSU, and a shorthanded goal in Saturday’s 4-1 victory over the Spartans.
	November 11, 2002 Mark Mink, U-M Sr., F (Livonia, MI) Mink, 2-2-4 and +3 in a win and tie at Bowling Green, tied a career high with two goals and an assist in Friday’s 6-4 win and recorded the tying goal in Saturday’s 1-1 tie.
	November 4, 2002 Nick Jardine, MIA Sr., F (Bloomfield Hills, MI) Jardine, 3-1-4 for the weekend, scored once in Friday’s 3-2 win over Bowling Green, and came back with two goals, including the winner, and an assist in Saturday’s sweep completing 6-1 victory.
	October 28, 2002 Chris Kunitz, FSU Sr., F (Regina, SK) Kunitz, who is averaging four points per game through four league outings, scored two goals and assisted on two goals each night as the Bulldogs posted a sweep at Notre Dame with 5-2 and 4-1 victories.
	October 21, 2002 Chris Kunitz, FSU Sr., F (Regina, SK) Kunitz, the leading goal scorer in the CCHA last season, collected 2-4-6 in the Bulldogs’ 10-1 rout of Bowling Green on Friday and scored the first two goals of the game in a 5-1 victory on Saturday.
	October 14, 2002 Dana Lattery, WMU Sr., F (Cochrane, AB) Lattery, 1-3-4 in a weekend sweep of BGSU, keyed a Friday comeback with a third-period goal and an assist as the Broncos rallied for a 6-5 road win in overtime. He assisted on his team’s first goal in Saturday’s 3-2 home-ice decision.
	October 7, 2002 Vince Pulera, MIA Fr., F (Kenosha, WI) Pulera produced 2-2-4 in Friday’s season-opening win over Air Force and then scored the gam-winning goal with under seven minutes remaining for a 2-1 decision over Bowling Green in the final of the Lefty McFadden Invitational.

Defensive Players of the Week

	March 10, 2003 David Burleigh, MIA Sr., G (N. Vancouver, BC) Burleigh blocked all 44 shots he faced in the RedHawks sweep of Lake Superior State and, on Saturday, recorded his school-record 12th career shutout.
	March 3, 2003 Mike Brown, FSU So., G (Calgary, AB) Brown was the Perani Cup first star each game with 31- and 44-save efforts to post his third and fourth shutouts of the season in the Bulldogs’ 5-0 and 4-0 wins over UNO.
	February 24, 2003 Mike Roemensky, UM Sr., D (White Lake, MI) Roemensky was +5 as the Wolverines became just the third CCHA team ever to sweep a series at Omaha. He anchored a penalty-killing unit that was 9-for-10 and picked up an assist in Friday’s 6-1 win.
	February 17, 2003 Morgan Cey, ND So., G (Wilkie, SK) Cey blocked 63-of-67 shots (.940) and was the Perani Cup first star each night as the Irish swept a road series against Bowling Green with a pair of 3-2 wins.
	February 10, 2003 J.M. Liles, MSU Sr., D (Zionsville, IN) Liles was +5 and not on the ice for a goal against while scoring his CCHA-defensemen leading 11th goal of the season and assisting on the winning goal in the Spartans 6-3 win at BGSU on Saturday.
	February 3, 2003 Mike Betz, OSU Jr., G (Elizabeth, PA) Betz blocked 53-of-56 shots (.946) and did not allow a five-on-five goal in a tie and win at Notre Dame, including a 23-save shutout performance that snapped the Buckeyes’ winless streak on the road in conference play at five games.
	January 27, 2003 Dan Ellis, UNO Jr., G (Orangeville, ON) Ellis blocked 73-of-74 shots (.987) to record his third shutout of the season and held No. 6-Ohio State scoreless for over 119 minutes of the Mavericks weekend sweep.
	January 20, 2003 Doug Andress, OSU Jr., D (Iroquois Falls, ON) Andress (2-1-3, +4) helped the Buckeyes hold BGSU to just 44 shots on goal and was not on the ice for a goal against in the series sweep. He also scored a game-winning goal and contributed a game-winning assist.
	January 13, 2003 David Burleigh, MIA Sr., G (North Vancouver, BC) Burleigh stopped 58-of-60 shots (.967) in a win and tie against UNO while also earning his ninth career shutout and allowing just one even-strength goal in 125 minutes of playing time on the weekend.
	January 6, 2003 Simon Mangos, FSU Jr., D (Caledon, ON) Mangos finished +5 for the weekend as the Bulldogs swept Niagara by scores of 7-1 and 8-1. He also scored a goal in each contest to extend his point streak to four games.
	December 16, 2002 Matt Violin, LSSU So., G (Kleinburg, ON) Violin blocked 78-of-84 shots he faced (.929), including a career-high 50 in the Lakers 2-2 tie at St. Lawrence on Saturday night that snapped an LSSU-record 13-game losing streak.
	December 9, 2002 Dan Ellis, UNO Jr., G (Orangeville, ON) Ellis blocked 53-of-54 shots (.981) in a road sweep of LSSU. He earned his sixth career shutout on Saturday with a 22-save, first-star effort and blocked 31 shots for third-star honors in Friday’s 4-1 win.
	December 1, 2002 Al Montoya, U-M Fr., G (Glenview, IL) Montoya stopped 57-of-59 shots (.966) in a weekend road sweep of Wisconsin and Minnesota in the College Hockey Showcase. His 38 saves in Sunday’s 3-1 win over the Gophers are a career high.
	November 25, 2002 Mike Brown, FSU So., G (Calgary, AB) Brown stopped 56-of-59 shots (.949) in a weekend sweep of an OSU team previously undefeated in conference play. He was the third star of Friday’s 4-2 win with 31 saves and Saturday’s second star with 25 stops in a 2-1 win.
	November 25, 2002 Mike Mantua, WMU So., G (Northville, MI) Mantua, after making 19 saves in a relief appearance on Friday, blocked 25 shots, including a penalty shot, and scored a goal to earn first-star honors in Saturday’s 4-1 win over first-place Ferris State.
	November 11, 2002 David Keough, UAF Jr., D (Prince George, BC) Keough, +2 in a road sweep at UNO, anchored a Nanooks defense that killed all six Maverick power-play chances. He also scored a third period goal on Saturday and was on the ice for just one goal against on the weekend.
	November 4, 2002 Mike Brown, FSU So., G (Calgary, AB) Brown blocked 47-of-48 shots (.955) and was the first star each game, allowing just one goal, as the Bulldogs rolled to 6-0-0 in conference play with 5-0 and 5-1 wins at Alaska-Fairbanks.
	October 28, 2002 Mike Brown, FSU So., G (Calgary, AB) Brown blocked 63-of-66 shots (.955) and allowed just one even-strength goal in Ferris State’s sweep at Notre Dame. He turned in a 40-save effort in FSU’s 4-1 Saturday night win.
	October 21, 2002 Mike Brown, FSU So., G (Calgary, AB) Brown blocked 58-of-60 shots (.967) he faced in a sweep of Bowling Green. Brown was named the Perani Cup second star of the game each night in winning the award for a second consecutive week.
	October 14, 2002 Mike Brown, FSU So., G (Calgary, AB) Brown blocked 74-of-79 shots (.940) in a weekend split with St. Cloud of the WCHA. He stopped all 15 shots he faced in the third period of Saturday’s 6-3 victory as the Bulldogs counted three unanswered goals in the final frame.
	October 7, 2002 David Burleigh, MIA Sr., G (North Vancouver, B.C) Burleigh blocked 34-of-36 shots (.944) and did not allow an even-strength goal in backstopping the RedHawks to their first tournament title since 1998 and, in the process, became Miami’s all-time leader for career goalie victories.

	March 10, 2003 Colton Fretter, MSU Fr., F (Harrow, ON) Fretter (2-1-3, +1) scored twice in the Spartans 4-0 win at WMU on Friday and added an assist in Saturday’s 8-5 victory over the Broncos.
	March 3, 2003 Dirk Southern, NMU Fr., F (Winnipeg, MB) Southern (1-2-3, +3) had a goal and game-winning assist in Friday’s 5-2 victory over OSU and drew an assist on the ‘Cats lone goal in a 4-1 Saturday loss to the Buckeyes.
	February 24, 2003 Scott Foster, WMU Fr., G (Sarnia, ON) Foster blocked 59-of-64 shots (.922) and improved his record to 6-5-2 with a win and tie against Bowling Green. He was the Perani Cup-third star of Saturday’s 4-2 road win with a career high 32 stops.
	February 11, 2003 Jeff Tambellini, U-M Fr., F (Port Moody, BC) Tambellini fired a pair of goals each game, including Friday’s winner, as the Wolverines split a home-and-home with MSU. His first goal at the 13-second mark on Friday, was the fastest game opening goal for U-M since Nov. 19, 1994.
	February 10, 2003 Ryan Kesler, OSU Fr., F (Livonia, MI) Kesler (1-3-4, +3) scored a goal and assisted on the overtime winner on Friday against WMU, and picked up two more assists, including one on the winning goal with under three minutes to play in Saturday’s 3-2 win.
	February 3, 2003 Jeff Tambellini, UM Fr., F (Port Moody, BC) Tambellini (3-1-4) scored twice in the Wolverines 6-4 home-ice win on Friday against FSU and had extended his goal-scoring streak to four with a goal and an assist in Saturday’s 4-3 road loss to the Bulldogs.
	January 27, 2003 Jeff Tambellini, UM Fr., F (Port Moody, BC) Tambellini (2-3-5, +3) put together back-to-back multi-point games in a weekend sweep of LSSU, including two goals and an assist on Saturday night at Joe Louis Arena.
	January 20, 2003 Vince Bellissimo, WMU Fr., F (Toronto, ON) Bellissimo (2-2-4, +3) enjoyed his second straight two-goal game, including the winner with 6:26 to play, on Friday against Miami and added two assists in Saturday’s win over the RedHawks.
	January 13, 2003 David Booth, MSU Fr., F (Washington, MI) Booth fired his first career hat trick in the Spartans 5-2 Friday night win over UAF and assisted on Saturday’s game-winning goal in their sweep-clinching 6-2 victory over the Nanooks.
	January 6, 2003 Jeff Tambellini, UM Fr., F (Port Moody, BC) Tambellini extended his goal-scoring streak to four games with an overtime winner on Saturday against Miami and another winner in the third period of Sunday’s 5-2 victory.
	December 16, 2002 Ryan Kesler, OSU F (Livonia, MI) Kesler (0-2-2, +3) assisted on both game-winning goals in the Buckeyes sweep of UNO. He has record seven, game-winning points this season with two goals and five assists.

He had two goals and an assist in Friday’s 5-5 tie at Minnesota and the game’s first goal in Saturday’s 2-1 overtime victory at Wisconsin.
	November 25, 2002 Andy Greene, MIA Fr., G (Trenton, MI) Greene, the top-scoring defenseman on the RedHawks with 1-8-9, collected two assists, including one on the winning goal, in Saturday’s 6-2 win over Alaska-Fairbanks.
	November 25, 2002 Al Montoya, U-M Fr., G (Glenview, IL) Montoya blocked 48-of-49 shots (.980) in a weekend sweep of Lake Superior, including a 21-save effort on Saturday for his first-CCHA and second-career shutout.
	November 11, 2002 Jamie Milam, NMU Fr., D (Lake Orion, MI) Milam, 1-3-4 and +4 in a weekend sweep of WMU, drew one assist in Friday’s 5-0 win and fired his first college goal and added two assists in Saturday’s 5-2 victory.
	November 4, 2002 Ryan Kesler, OSU Fr., F (Livonia, MI) Kesler, who assisted on OSU’s lone goal in Friday’s 3-1 loss to Cornell, scored his first college goal and added two more assists in Sunday’s 6-2 victory over Colgate.
	October 28, 2002 Matt Davis, MIA Fr., D (Rocky River, OH) Davis produced 3-1-4 and was +4 in the RedHawks sweep of Northern Michigan. He scored his first college goal on Friday and came back with two goals and an assist on Saturday in 7-1 and 5-2 victories.
	Rookie Dan Knapp, OSU F (Rochester, MI) Knapp scored two goals, including the winner, in the Buckeyes’ 6-3 road win over Alaska Fairbanks on Friday and scored the lone OSU marker on Saturday in a 1-1 tie with the Nanooks.
	October 14, 2002 Vince Bellissimo, WMU F (Toronto, ON) Bellissimo scored the game-winning goal in overtime on Friday for a 3-2 win at BGSU and notched another game winner, 2:40 into the third period, in Saturday’s 3-2 home-ice victory.
	October 7, 2002 Dirk Southern, NMU F (Winnipeg, MB) Southern led Northern with a goal and assist in his college debut, a 4-1 victory at Michigan Tech that made head coach Walt Kyle’s debut behind the bench of the Wildcats a successful one.
